If you’re a video gamer, then you know what an RPG is. If you’re not, it stands for Role Playing Game. Today we are going to talk about how you can bring an RPG into your every day life and not just in a game you play.
Roleplaying is Manifestation
Many people make fun of others who dress up and play pretend. These types of people are classified as nerds, but they’ve learned a secret to being happy that more serious folk have not. When we pretend, we live as is and that is how we receive a life of our imagination. It is healthy to role play the ideal position you want in life.
For instance, if you dream of being a writer then you could start with dressing like one according to you. When we see a writer in our minds, they are dressed in a dark academia aesthetic. Their surroundings are in a library or vintage office with amber lighting, even candlelight. If you imagined the same, then you could start to pretend, in your own home, that you were this type of writer.

If you don’t have a study and you could transform one of your bedrooms or living room into one. If you are a writer, you have books. Do you have an epic bookshelf? If not, why not? Build one! Go get one! Whatever you need to do to roleplay, go do it within your budget and safety. Soon your life will begin to align with your fantasy. You’ll start to see opportunities that help you build this character more so – and this character is more of who you are than you might think.
Perhaps you’ll get invited to a book club. Maybe you’ll desire to get a part-time job as a barista in a bookstore. You could find that building bookshelves is a specialty of yours and people are willing to pay you for it.
You can use this example for many careers or roles, but we see no harm in playing a bit. We haven’t met one person who doesn’t live in some form of fantasy. We’ve never met anyone who doesn’t have an escape from the real world. Everyone we know has a movie they rewatch over and over again. They have a favorite author and books they need to read almost every month. They daydream about being someone new or better. They crave to have the bravery to step out in a costume or play dress up, without being made fun of.
What role do you want to play? Think about the characters you choose in video games. Think about your favorite characters. How are you already like them and how can you incorporate this play-pretend into your life?
